Although I'm kind of dreading the hot summer days that I know are ahead (and have already begun here in Austin), I've been looking forward to cool summer cocktails and all the summer-y flavors. This cocktail that Kelsey created is the perfect combination of all my favorites: mint, lemon and iced tea (because I'm from the south and it's gosh darn delicious).
The liquor in this drink is Bulleit Rye whiskey (I mention Bulleit in my bar essentials post along with other staple beverages you should have on hand for easy cocktail making) which is one of my hubby's favorites. The whiskey is absolutely perfect in this drink because it add that little punch that cuts the sweetness a bit. It's perfect for sipping while sitting on your front porch (and people watching, of course) during those hot summer days!
