Fall decor brings all the warm and fuzzy feelings that I love about this season. The colors, the fruit, the scents - I love how they all go together in such a beautiful warmness.
I love decorating with organic things - greenery, fruit, wood, etc. so this year I went to Whole Foods and bought some fruit to decorate with. My favorite Fall fruits are pears and figs, and I added some concord grapes in the mix for some rich color and texture. I also foraged some greenery from a park near our house to add to a couple of vases and to our mantle. And have I mentioned I'm a sucker for pine cones? I can't get enough of them. I decorate with them year-round, but I add a ton more during the fall to make it special. This year, I nestled some pine cones in the greenery on the mantle and filled a bowl on my coffee table.
For the garland, I bought some natural wood beads from Michael's, stained several of them, and strung them on a string. This garland will also double as a garland for our baby boy's nursery once Fall is over.
And let's chat real fast about candles. Candles could be my favorite thing on this planet. I love how their scents can automatically create a certain mood and the light makes for the perfect ambiance. For Fall, I put candles everywhere I can. I stuck one on our kitchen table with a bowl of fruit and vase of greenery, several on our mantle to create a lovely golden glow, and one on our coffee table with a bowl of pine cones and an amber vase filled with greenery.
Psst! I'll let you in on a little secret about the one on our coffee table - it's a Black Fig & Vanilla candle I made myself and it may or may not be offered on my website in the near future!
Fall has officially arrived in the Scott household, and I'm more than ready to curl up on the couch with some tea and a warm blanket (once this weather finally cools down a bit!). What are your favorite ways to decorate for Fall?
