If you know me, you know I’m the kind of person that likes to be cautious with any new ideas or business adventures that come to mind. I always want to make sure that I can execute things well before I go announcing to the world. If you have been following along for a little bit, you may have seen hints here and there about candle making. Well, I’m super super pumped to announce that I am in fact going to be selling my candles and opening a Feast & Dwell Shop on November 1st!
The idea of candle making has been on my mind for the past year or so. I started making candles for my photography clients and was getting some amazing feedback. Several months ago, I was shooting product for one of my sweet friend’s handmade leather goods company and briefly mentioned the idea of making candles to her. I told her that it is something I love but didn’t know if I could pull it off and she said “DO IT!” All it took was about five minutes of brainstorming for me to get excited about the new adventure and I set to work trying to find some amazing scent combinations. The past few months have been filled with testing dozens of candles using different waxes, wicks, and fragrances and I believe I have come up with the best of the best.
The reason I’ve chosen to sell these candles on Feast & Dwell is because I feel that it goes along really well with the idea of homemaking. If candles were a love language, they would be mine. I love the way candles have the ability to set a mood and make us feel warm and cozy. I have candles burning in our house pretty much non-stop and I think they add a wonderful warmness to our house. Candles are such a simple way to add a little somethin' somethin' to your house and make it feel like a home.
I’m starting with two scents that are absolutely perfect for Fall. Black Fig & Vanilla which is a warm, sweet scent and Tree Hunt (notes of pine, orange, and clove) which is named after the Scott Family tradition of cutting down a Christmas tree every year. I will gradually be adding new scents to the shop (I have one in the works right now!) and I even have a Special Holiday Edition of the Tree Hunt candle that will make a perfect Christmas gift and will be announced the day after Thanksgiving.
To get to the shop on November 1st, all you have to do is come to my website and click on the tab in the top righthand corner that says "shop" (it will be visible on launch day!). If you have any questions or concerns when ordering, always feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
